Tir Righ Archery Championship August 2023 (AS 58)
Beware the Kraken!
Very much like last year, this tournament will require entrants to be able to shoot in two different styles for the qualifiers, and then use their preferred weapon style for semi-finals and finals.
There will be two qualifying shoots. Each competitor must shoot both. Each competitor will choose which qualifier they will shoot with their primary weapon, and which they will shoot with their other weapon choice.
Archers will be attempting to achieve the best combined ranking between the two qualifiers.
Those advancing to semi-finals and finals will use their primary weapon type so they can show off their best moves!
Weapon Types:
• Open Handbow*
• Period Handbow (including period arrows)*
• Crossbow
• Combat Archery (CA legal bow or crossbow, arrows or bolts, hand protection. Helm and armour required if you make it to finals, combatants wishing to use this as a primary weapon type must have fully legal kit and be authorized before the event.)
*Equipment in this category will be available to borrow ONLY IF ARRANGED IN ADVANCE. It may be baronial loaner gear and will be available on a first-contact-first-reserved basis. Please contact Athelina Grey before the event if you need to borrow equipment.

Tir Righ August Investiture – Gate Volunteer Sign-up
Gate volunteering is a wonderful way to participate, and I may be biased, but it’s the most fun. It’s a great way to interact and meet people – your fellow volunteers, event attendees – and to get a look at some great historical fashion… It’s the best place to be!
All volunteers will receive training/guidance, if required, and seasoned gate volunteers are encouraged to be shift captains. Please sign up at the following link, and remember you can sign up more than once.
In gratitude,
Adelheid
